Next-generation 12-bar lifting bags — 2.5 cm insertion height, up to 102 tonnes. More powerful than conventional 8-bar bags of the same size.
The S.Tec series is Vetter's next-generation high-pressure lifting bag. At 12 bar working pressure with only 2.5 cm insertion height, S.Tec bags deliver exceptional lifting force even in the most restricted access scenarios. Available in 14 sizes — from 1 tonne compact bags to 102 tonne heavy rescue bags — square and rectangular options.

All models: 12 bar (174 psi) operating pressure · 2.5 cm (0.98") insertion height · EN 13204 · CE marked · NW 7.2 quick-connect
All S.Tec bags use the same NW 7.2 quick-connect system and are fully compatible with Vetter deadman controllers, pressure guards and pressure reducers. Controllers and accessories sold separately or as a complete set.
The conventional rescue airbag industry standardised on 8 bar working pressure for decades. Vetter's S-TEC series increased that to 12 bar — a 50% increase in working pressure. The practical result is that an S-TEC bag delivers significantly more lifting force from the same physical footprint as an equivalent 8-bar bag. The V7 at 280 × 280 mm and just 2 kg generates 7.5 T of lifting force. The V102 at 950 × 950 mm and 23 kg generates 101.6 T.
The 2.5 cm insertion height is one of the lowest in the category — the flat, uninflated bag profile lets it slide under vehicles, structural elements and machinery where even slightly thicker equipment would not fit. This combination of low profile and high force per unit area makes the S-TEC the industry benchmark for vehicle extrication rescue bags.
S-TEC bags are specified by their maximum capacity at the start of inflation. As the bag extends, capacity falls — a V50 that generates 50.1 T at low height generates less as it expands. For most vehicle extrication scenarios, size your bag to the maximum load weight at the height you expect to be working. If you need to lift a 20 T vehicle to 20 cm, a V26 (25.9 T, 27 cm max) is the appropriate choice. If you need a safety margin or will operate at higher extension, the next size up is recommended. Request a QuoteThe V number represents the maximum lifting capacity in tonnes at the start of inflation. V7 lifts up to 7.5 T, V50 up to 50.1 T, V102 up to 101.6 T. This is the peak capacity at low extension. Capacity decreases as the bag extends to full height — always confirm the working load at the expected operating height, not just the headline capacity figure.
S-TEC bags operate at 12 bar — 50% higher than the 8-bar industry standard. This means significantly more lifting force from the same size bag. An S-TEC V20 at 440 × 440 mm delivers 20.2 T of lift — equivalent performance would require a substantially larger 8-bar bag. The higher pressure also means the S-TEC can work through a greater stroke, often delivering better usable height alongside better force.
All S-TEC bags have a 2.5 cm (25 mm) insertion height when uninflated. This allows them to be slid under vehicles, machinery, or structural elements where ground clearance is very limited. A single standard bag can typically be inserted under a vehicle that has settled after a collision with as little as 3–4 cm of clearance between the vehicle and the ground surface.
Yes. Two S-TEC bags of the same model can be used side by side, controlled by a single 2-circuit Vetter controller. Each circuit controls one bag independently, allowing the operator to balance the lift. When two V50 bags are used in tandem, the combined starting capacity is approximately 100 T. A 4-circuit controller allows two independent tandem pairs for asymmetric or multi-point lifts.
S-TEC bags require 12 bar compressed air. Standard fire service breathing air cylinders (200 or 300 bar) supply this through a Vetter pressure regulator. Vehicle air compressor connections and dedicated rescue compressors are also suitable. All bags connect via the standardised NW 7.2 quick-connect fitting — compatible with all Vetter controllers and hose sets.
