Vetter pneumatic lifting bags (also called rescue airbags or pneumatic rescue bags) are inflatable rubber-and-fabric cushions used by fire brigades and rescue services to lift, shift or stabilise heavy objects during vehicle extrication, industrial accidents and building collapses. They operate using compressed air — either from a standard fire service breathing apparatus cylinder or a dedicated control unit — and inflate in seconds to deliver controlled lifting forces of up to 102 tonnes per bag.
