Vetter pipe sealing sleeves, high-pressure sealing hose systems and flange drain bags — designed to stop leaks in ammonia lines, acid pipework, and industrial process pipes under live pressure, without plant shutdown. Authorised Vetter distributor, UAE & Egypt.
A weeping flange on an ammonia transfer line, a small crack in a phosphoric acid header, a deteriorating joint on a urea slurry pipe — all are common occurrences between scheduled turnarounds at fertilizer plants across Egypt and the Gulf. The cost of an unplanned shutdown to fix a minor leak can far exceed the value of the product being lost. Companies operating Abu Qir Fertilizers, EFC, MOPCO, FERTIL UAE and SAFCO face this same pressure: find a way to seal the leak, keep the plant running, repair properly at the next turnaround.
Your plant's ammonia transfer line, phosphoric acid header, or urea slurry pipe has developed a leak. A full process shutdown to repair it would cost far more — in lost production and restart costs — than the value of the product being lost. You need to stop the leak, or at least control it, and defer a proper repair to the next scheduled turnaround.
Vetter pipe sealing sleeves are positioned over the leak and inflated to working pressure — stopping the leak under live process conditions. Flange drain bags capture weeping flanges before product reaches the ground. The high-pressure sealing hose system handles longer pipe sections and higher-access areas. No shutdown. No production loss.
The Vetter pipe sealing sleeve is the core product for industrial leak repair. Positioned over the leak point and inflated pneumatically, it applies even sealing pressure around the entire pipe circumference — stopping the leak while the process line remains live. The sleeve is sized to the specific nominal pipe diameter; the appropriate sleeve is matched to the pipe during procurement.
| Pipe DN | Inch equiv. | Max Working Pressure |
|---|---|---|
| DN 15 | ½ inch | 16 bar (232 psi) |
| DN 20 | ¾ inch | 16 bar (232 psi) |
| DN 25 | 1 inch | 16 bar (232 psi) |
| DN 32 | 1¼ inch | 16 bar (232 psi) |
| DN 40 | 1½ inch | 16 bar (232 psi) |
| DN 50 | 2 inch | 16 bar (232 psi) |
| DN 65 | 2½ inch | 16 bar (232 psi) |
| DN 80 | 3 inch | 16 bar (232 psi) |
| DN 100 | 4 inch | 16 bar (232 psi) |
For leaks in long pipe runs, elevated pipe racks or areas with limited access, the Vetter high-pressure sealing hose system provides a solution where individual sealing sleeves cannot reach. The flexible sealing hose is routed along the leaking pipe section, inflated from a safe operating position, and pressed against the pipe surface to stop the leak. Designed for higher-pressure industrial process pipework carrying corrosive chemicals.
Key advantage over sleeves: covers longer leak zones and reaches pipe racks at height without scaffolding. A single hose system can seal multiple nearby leak points simultaneously.

Flanges are the most common leak point in any chemical plant. A weeping flange on an ammonia line or acid header does not always justify a shutdown, but left uncontrolled it creates a health hazard, corrosion damage, and an environmental violation. Vetter flange drain bags fit over the flange, capture leaking product, and drain it via a hose to a safe collection container — keeping the area clean and the process running until a proper repair is scheduled.
Typical use: Fertilizer plant inter-stage piping flanges, acid headers, cooling water flanges, condensate return lines.

When a leaking pipe, valve or tank fitting needs to be drained as well as sealed, vacuum drainage bags provide a controlled means of collecting escaping liquids and transferring them to a safe storage container. Used at industrial HazMat incidents and plant maintenance situations where leaking product cannot simply be allowed to run to ground.

Instrument impulse lines, valve packing, small threaded fittings — where a sleeve cannot be positioned, Vetter leak sealing paste stops the leak immediately. Applied directly to the leak source, it acts as a temporary seal while a formal repair order is raised. Supplied as a set of 8 cans (500 ml each). Used by plant maintenance teams as the first-response tool for minor leaks on valve glands, small flanges and instrument connections.

The sealing sleeve is placed around the pipe, centred over the leak. No tools required — the sleeve is opened, positioned by hand, and the inflation connector attached. The plant process line remains live throughout.
The sleeve is inflated using the supplied compressed-air equipment. Even pressure distribution around the pipe circumference seals the leak. Pressure is monitored and held at the correct inflation level for the pipe working pressure.
The sealed sleeve acts as a temporary repair. The plant continues to operate. A formal repair work order is raised for the next scheduled maintenance window. The sleeve is deflated and removed when the permanent repair is made.
