LUKAS positions the SP 778 E3 as the "new spearhead in heavy rescue" — a spreader engineered specifically for incidents involving trucks, heavy goods vehicles, buses and coaches, where the structural width far exceeds what conventional spreaders can address. Its 1,018 mm blade opening is approximately 200 mm wider than the next largest spreader in the LUKAS range, providing access to door apertures and cab structures that would otherwise require multiple tool movements.
Despite the step up in size, the SP 778 E3 retains the full e³ system compatibility — it uses the same KSV 11 chain set as all other LUKAS spreaders, meaning rescue teams do not need new accessories. Squeezing force of 144 kN (the highest in the E3 spreader range) provides substantial compression capability for structural displacement. Pulling force of 50 kN over 858 mm covers seat and pedal removal.
At 24.3 kg the SP 778 E3 is the heaviest of the LUKAS E3 spreaders but remains a one-person tool within the e³ battery ecosystem. IP 58 rated for all-weather and flood rescue environments.
